| The first one being in the Oakmont section of the township with Engine and Foam 35 responding. Once crews arrived into staging the company was released by 38 command. The second came just after returning from Oakmont, this time the Ladder was due for the chimney fire in Manoa. Squad 56 arrived on scene, secured their own water supply and stretched a precautionary attack line. The crew of 8 from Ladder 35 assisted the crew from the Squad while the aerial was placed in service. Squad 58 dropped a precautionary supply line as well. Broomall Rescue 53 stood by for RIT, as well as Narberth MICU 108. Crews spent about an hour clearing the chimney before returning. While we are knocking on “actual” springs front door it is always a great time to remind everyone to have their chimneys professionally inspected and cleaned once a year. This is the second and third chimney fire in a little over a week in Haverford Township. Manoa Fire Company - Station 56 |
