| Numerous area companies were initially dispatched for an accident with entrapment involving a tanker truck with reports of a rollover.
Upon arrival the tanker was found on its side across Route 1 NB actively leaking fuel. The driver was not trapped and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Spill and Foam 35 responded to the highway as Spill 50 (Middletown) began protecting Ridley Creek below the accident scene.
Crews from Brookline, Rose Tree, and Media began mitigating the spill from the truck and worked at the direction of officials from Delaware County Emergency Services Haz-Mat and Middletown Car 1 to further control spread.
Due to the size of the spill, additional equipment was required from our storage facility. A special request for Special Service and Utility 56 (Manoa) was made to gather the equipment and transport it to the scene.
Crews worked for nearly 2 hours before being released as Delaware County and environmental clean up teams remained on scene.
A special thank you to Manoa for their quick response and assistance today. |
